2-3 High quality work: Multiply value by 2; if total value is 500gp or less, ignore this and add 1.000gp
1 Master work: Multiply value by d3+3. If total value is 500gp or less add 2000gp
Normal books (Any character with read/write proficiency)
- Studied:
1) None: 0. +100gp if character has related NWP. 1d3 weeks
2) Very: d3x100gp. x 2 if character has related NWP. 1d6 weeks.
3) High: 500-1000gp. x 2 if character has related NWP. 2+ months.
- For each 3 months of careful work/study: -1 to the reading/writing check
- Base value: 1d6x10gp + studied. After it’s been fixed roll the reading/writing and check the table.
Magical research books (Only Wizards or Priests; Bards and other spellcasters with +3 penalty to the reading/writing check)
- Minimum study of 3 months d6x20 gp cost per month
- Read/write check with +2 penalty; +5 for non wizards or priests.
- Studied:
1) Normal: +d3x100gp. 3 months.
2) Very: 300-1000gp. 6 months.
3) High: 1100-3000gp: 9 or more months.
- For each 6 months of uninterrupted study, includes research and laboratory work: -1 to the read/write check
- About spells normally used, known or experienced (if spellcraft check is successful): -1 to the read/write check.
- For each 10.000gp of research library the author has access to: -1 to the read/write check.
-Base value: 2d10x10 gp + studied. After it’s been fixed, roll the read/write and check the table.
- Finally multiply the obtained value by 3, this gives the book’s total value.
Materials and decoration. This values in gp is added after the book’s value has been determined. In magical research books this values don’t apply for the research value of the book.
- Materials:

2) High quality (good paper, treated leather…) d5x100gp
-Decoration:Gems, gold paper, illumination, drawings, add their value to the total worth of the book
- Studied:
